This past weekend on the National Mall in Washington, DC, the Smithsonian put on a spectacular presentation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing by Apollo 11. It was absolutely stunning.
Sitting in the audience with my GH5 on a tripod, I recorded the entire 18-minute presentation in 4K (recorded in 10-bit 4:2:2 at 150 Mbps) and just uploaded it to YouTube. (Sadly, YouTube does not support 10-bit 4:2:2, so I rendered it down to 8-bit 4:2:0 at 60 Mbps.) Considering my somewhat primitive setup, the recording worked out well. I wish the audio was better in spots, but there's nothing I can do about that now. You can watch it on a cellphone, tablet or computer screen, but I recommend watching it on a large-screen TV. If you have a smart TV, you can navigate to YouTube and watch it. (My smart TV has a YouTube button.) Here is the URL: https://youtu.be/exu3wlUEZJQ
The easiest way to find the video on a smart TV is to go to YouTube and search on my name (Bob Kovacs). On my YouTube channel, it is the first video that will come up. It was a fantastic presentation: informative, exciting, patriotic, hopeful and inspiring. If you didn't get a chance to see it, it is very much worth seeing. I hope you enjoy the video!
