GH13 GH5 in 180 fps in 180 angle in VLOG becomes darker when I press record?

Hi

I've got one problem with my GH5?

When I press record in 180 fps in 180 angle in VLOG with Metabones Speed Booster (Ultra 0.71 for Nikon glass) the screen becomes darker and so is the recording (several stops darker)?

When I stop the recording the GH5 returns to its proper exposure again, this is so weird?

Does anyone have a suggestion on what it might be?

SIGMA 18-35 Nikon glass

I have now tested without the SpeedBooster and with the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60 / 2,8-4 ASPH and I get the the same results?

Does your footage look darker than what you exposed for? It could very well be the speedbooster causing it. I use the XL on my GH5 and it doesn't do that. It also doesn't happen with the native 12-35ii

Yes, if you watch the youtube video I linked you can see exactly what I mean.

This does not happen in normal 4K 25p recording, however.

On a cross country flight with the GH5 is the overhead bin so it's not convenient to test, but try enabling "Constant Preview" in the menus.

Haven't had a chance to check your YouTube video as the internet is just too slow.

Looks like it's a bug. I've seen a few other reports of this on Facebook GH5 groups. It apparently happens with Angle set for shutter, but not with Speed set. Try that for now to see if it fixes it.

Cheers,

Paul :)

Yea Paul and Bern Caughey it's a bug, it does work with sec/iso and sec/db but "NOT with Angle set". Glad I'm not alone with this.

That's a drag, but good to know, especially as I am going to film some HFR B-Roll as soon as I jump off the flight. I hate working with Shutter Speed instead of Angle, but at least there's a workaround.

Does the bug effect Picture Profiles too, or just VLog-L mode?

Yea happens to mine too.

It's not that bad, it's just that the display doesn't show us the correct exposure before pressing the record button. Then you have to make some adjustments again.
Hopefully it can be fixed with an update.

Actually, from what I've read the actual recorded exposure is correct? It's just the monitoring pipeline that has a bug.

But if that's wrong info, I'm happy to be corrected. I haven't tested it myself yet - too busy building LUTs to dig deep into all the features! :D

No that's correct Paul. What you see during recording is what you get :)
It's just that, before you press the record button the monitor shows a different exposure (much brighter than it actually is)
