So, any experience you guys would like to share regarding which lenses work well with ibis?![]()
Basically, every lens without OIS works perfectly with the IBIS as long as you input the right FL if dumb adapter used. And IS-Lock in video mode great with all my legacy fast primes up to 200mm, as well as my native 7-14/4.0 and 25/1.4.
Of the OIS native lenses I have, only the 12-35 (v.1) works with OIS and IBIS in concert, and it's very good. The 100-300 (v1) has weak OIS, but no IBIS with that off. With OIS on and IBIS on the IS-lock icon appears in video mode, but little apparent effect.
My excellent workhorse adapted 4/3 Pana-Leica 14-150/3.5-5.6 has pretty good OIS, no IBIS with OIS off, but a big Video IS-lock effect with both on that's pretty striking at 150mm. Whoopee!
The Canon 100-400-II w/ Metabones T-smart adapter and excellent 4-stop OIS: if turned on with OIS off, IBIS takes over with about same effectiveness as the OIS - possibly a bit weaker at 400mm. IS-lock also, but little effect beyond 200mm.
Finally, Panasonic, why the devil isn't IS-lock available in 4K/6K Photo or any other normal stills mode?
