GH5 GH5 and Zhyium Crane V2

I purchased the Zhiyum Crane V2 a month ago and find it works very well with the GH5 and Pana/Leica 8-18 with a variable ND filter attached. There is supposed to be a control cable that connects the Crane to the GH5 that will start and stop recording from the Crane control. I ordered the cable from Pergear in China and they sent me a cable with a micro USB connection to the Crane and a stereo plug on the other end that is supposed to connect to the stereo input on the GH5 per a response from Pergear. However, the stereo plug is smaller than the mic input. I may try a 2.5mm to 3.5 mm adapter to see if that works. If this is works I will lose the use of the mic in on the GH5. Too bad it isn't a usb to usb connection. Does anyone have any experience with this setup?

As an aside, changing lenses to the 12-35 and 35-100 requires minor balancing primarily adjusting the sliding mounting plate.

Maybe I have not had enough coffee yet, but I have the same gear and the cable connects to the remote outlet and works just fine:)

I think you're using the wrong port. The gh4/gh5 have a remote in on the opposite side of the camera from the audio input and it's a 2.5 mm plug. the tilt theYou might also want to note that the usb end plugs into the bottom of the tilt motor adjacent to the cameras remote input and not into the Cranes handle.

For anyone who's reading this, do you have the cable and does it work. I got mine in last week and it doesn't seem to work with the gh4 or gh5. Both cameras work with a standard wired cable release but nothing with the crane cable. I have a crane 2 and am assuming that the software is current on the gimbal. I have used the app when pairing to set it to Panasonic but no luck so far. May be a bad cable.

Thanks for the responses. I never noticed the remote socket on the right side of the GH5. I used the iPhone app to set the stabilizer to Panasonic and saved the settings while the Crane was on. Connected the GH5 to the Crane. The GH5 was on when I did this and it did not work. Remembered you must turn on the Crane first, then the GH5. Everything worked as advertised when following this protocol.

FYI. Someone has demonstrated using the crane v2 and he gh5 with the cable you can do focus as well. A pretty cool thing that not many knew about.

Moza Air latest can now do mimic using the thumb controller. Another feature that is exciting to have (if you have either one or like me both). I was told Air will be able to do focus soon with gh5 and the included cable.

Tried to update the firmware but the ZhiyunGimbalTools App on my Mac did not even see the Crane. Yes I installed the CH341SER_MAC (aka USB Serial Driver) - but per those instructions when I open ‘System Report’->Hardware->USB, the right side is “USB Device Tree” there is NO device named “Vendor-Specific Device” (as the read me says there will be).
