GH5 GH5 6K recorded - the way further on my Mac

Got my GH5. Shot 6K. Recorded on SD card. Everything fine so far. Fine. Fine. I try to play it on my Macbook Pro Retina. Hmmm. Not good. Can get only stuttering, jerky play with the PotPalyer lookalike elmedia player.
Any advice to (1) play, (2) edit HEVC footage on a decent Mac. Of what use is it to come to heaven if there is nothing to do there (editing decently)? Any advice?

There are only two options, a faster computer or transcoding.

For a faster computer I would look for an AMD Treadripper 1950X or a Core i9 7940X or above in a month from now, that means for now you would have to look for a PC.

I've seen on other sites that some people have had great success with Edit Ready 2 in transcoding GH5 6K anamorphic footage into something they could play and edit. ( I'm guessing that they transcoded to ProRes )

Of course there's always the beautiful, smooth playback per camera HDMI to a monitor, with ability to magnify/capture any frame on the card...

EditReady 2 transcodes nicely HEVC 6K to ProRes, but cannot cope with GH5 4K 10 bits. Neither it does play nor transcode correctly MP4 files from GH5. Only visual garble in and out. Strange.

EDIT: just got a new build from Divergent Media. Works nice now with GH5 4K 10 bits too. The new build v. 2.1 should be out quite soon. Kudos to Colin McFadden from Divergent Media, who responded almost instantly to my request for feature.

High Sierra doesn't enable 10 bit playback (of 422 4k 150 or ALL I 400mbps) from within Finder / Quicktime player annoyingly, but mp4 HEVC ok, haven't tested all the flavours of it though. FCPX is STRUGGLING to playback 422 4K 400s on my iMac 5K - I thought it would play it BETTER than the 150?? HEVC 6K doesn't work in either Premiere or FCPX.

Someone with good knowledge to convert with ffmpeg HLG? Maybe aplying a LUT to transfer better the highlights?
