GH4 GH4 V-log?

Wow, just playing around in Filmconvert and this looks incredible in my opinion! The hype is real. C'mon Panasonic.

Panasonic GH4, Cinelike D, KD P400 Ptra, Film Color 100% Curve 100% Grain 30%, I also bumped up the highlights a little bit.

My scopes suggest this was exposed pretty far to the left. If that's true, potentially this shot could have contained a lot less shadow noise (not that I find what noise there is very offensive anyway).

First crack at it. First impressions: very pleasant to work with. I'll post a few more later maybe ...

One of these testers would be a hero if they shared the firmware update...
I'm fully assuming it's coming out, and that it will probably be free. Even for a $20-$50 fee I'd be happy, as V-Log was never promised, or even hinted as a feature when the camera was released. $100 upgrade would have to include more than just V-log to be happy to pay for it, but I probably would pay that much regardless. Anything more than that and I wouldn't do it out of principal and feeling like it was pretty extreme overcharging.

Did a ARRI REC709 LUT. Looks good to me. Nice skin tone. Now I'm a little excited.

From Nick -- Base ISO is 400 for V LOG L on the GH4. The clip is 4:2:2 10-bit recorded on the Atomos Shogun.

ISO 800 great / 1600 is good. I would say we're getting most out of GH4 now. It feels like a stop over Cinelike D

Thankful that Panasonic let someone uploaded some footage.

Going to take it into work tomorrow and throw it in a Baselight and see how it handles on a Dolby monitor.

But jesus.... what shutter speed is this.. looks horrible.

I question who Panasonic are giving this firmware out to, the camera store footage has been at best inconsistent, I don't think much at all of Driftwood's work, and the Eduardo Angel stuff is quite frankly shot and coloured really terribly.

Now that is a nice looking image!! Agreed...It looks very nice, very nice soft gradations...clean detail in the fur...impressive!!!
Some say its 2 stops.....Its also interesting to note that Jordan from the Camera Store now says he prefers using it over the A7s along with his Sony FS7.
However it should be said that Panasonic totally suck in the way they have been silent on this...apart from a few cameras floating around...
they have said nothing...and time drags on!
