I'm having a tough time figuring out how to turn the timelapse into a video file in camera. I'm reading about people getting a notification on the screen after the timelapse is done that converts it to video, but that never comes up for me. It just always says "timelapse complete" without showing an option for video conversion. I have the knob set to timelapse and am in Manual mode. I've also noticed that in my Playback menu, Time Lapse Video is greyed out for me and I am unable to get into those settings. I've got the image size set to 16:9 and shooting jpg. What setting do I have wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try page 44 in the manual. It talks about pressing the Fn1 button. Don' know if that is the necessary step, but perhaps it's a way to tell the camera that you want to finish the TL.

Does anyone know how to output to a 4K video file? I've heard from various sources it can be done, however I can only manage to get a 1080p video. The manual and the in-camera settings don't seem to make reference to the option.

When your timelapse sequence is finished you should get a dialogue box asking if you want to create a video - click yes.
A menu page then pops up with four settings - the second is for rec quality, tap that and select 4K.
You need to shoot your timelapse in the 16x9 aspect ratio if you're going to use the convert to video function otherwise you end up with black bars either side of your video

Ok thanks Rowy. I'm not sure how I missed the options box to select 4K. Brain atrophying at an alarming pace. And cheers for the tip re the aspect ratio.

Every time I choose the "convert to movie" option, my GH4 locks up after the conversion completes. Turning the on/off switch does nothing, and I have to pull the battery to reboot the camera. I am shooting 1920x1080p and using Sandisk Extreme Pro cards, which don't seem to give problems shooting in 4K, so I don't think the card is the problem. Any suggestions?
