Hadn't really planned on cutting any footage before my trip, but last evening the light was not to be denied. So here is some impromptu footage, shot with the CineV profile, saturation and sharpness -1, the rest unchanged. White balance set manually to 5400 K, luminance 0-255. None of the footage was optically focused, with the focus set by eyeballing the lens markings.

Shot handheld with most of the clips in the second part of the video stabilized in post, except for one clip to show pre-stabilization shake. No cropping, no color correction, with slight exposure balancing in FCP X.

Music: Propeller by Mountains from the album Centralia.

Nice! It's always lovely when the sun provides the best light you could ask for. Such lovely color contrast provided by one source of light! The shot going up the escalator is very cool.

Thanks Rain Man. It's ironic since there was an even more magnificent sunset the night before as I was going to pick up the lens, and I was thinking, damn, that would make for some great footage. I guess someone thought it was OK to do Take 2....

How's the lens? I'm thinking about getting it.

I couldn't be happier. It's their best lens to date IMHO. So much so that I'm taking it as my main travel lens for the month long trip. I'll let you know how that works out when I get back. It's not being released till the end of October so you have time to decide.

BTW, the footage was shot in a hour and edited in two. The lens and images are so easy to work with.
