GH4 GH4 Shutter angle...

Hi forum users. Anyone out there know if there is a way to set the shutter angle and lock it in so that it isn't able to be easily changed? My "problem" is that in the middle of shooting, I sometimes adjust the shutter speed/shutter angle dial rather than the aperture dial by mistake (it's a finger-thumb thing). I'd love to be able to set the shutter angle to 180 degrees and lock it in so that it is not adjustable on the fly. I know I can shoot in Aperture priority mode (exposure mode) and have the shutter speed/angle disabled, but what I don't know is what exactly is happening with the shutter in that mode. Does it lock in at a certain speed/angle, and if so, where is that set? Or is some kind of default or auto setting?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe you can switch which dial does what, so if your muscle memory just won't adjust to the cam, you can adjust the camera to accommodate.

I don't know of any way of disabling or impeding the shutter adjustment. I did see a pic on here of someone who had taped over their front dial with electrical tape, though.

Ahh yes, the old electrical tape solution! I hope I don't have to resort to that, but it may be my only hope…

Aperture priority mode means you have control over the aperture, that is given priority, and then shutter speed is set automatically to give what the camera thinks is a good exposure. You definitely don't want to use that if you want the shutter speed locked off as it will change constantly. Unfortunately I think you'll just have to get the muscle memory of what dial does what. Or resort to the gaff tape ;)
