GH4 GH4 shipping in the US now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, looks like Hotrod have my GH4 ready to pick up locally in LA today, and Texas Media Systems will be shipping the other one I ordered today I think.

Haven't heard from my Adorama order yet - and they're usually pretty good (faster than B&H for me).

Anyway, score one for the smaller vendors!

Especially Hot Rod, since I ordered last from them and got the camera first.

Just picked up mine locally from Samys as well. Very happy so far as it's working my existing Sandisk 128GB Class 10 45MB/s card. Tested 4K/24p and 1080/60p/100.
Might return the Transcend 128GB U3s I ordered.
 
SuperSet so interest in your tests about cards, I ordered same 128 Trascend UHS3 so if GH$ works with my Sandisk class 10 95MB/s good news!
 
I probably won't use the 1080/200 option since 100 is more than enough for me and most of my stuff will be in 4K anyways. Excellent camera so far, great job Panasonic!

As also seen here - http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/member.php?7545-Thomas-Smet - Thomas is clearly fond of (or employed by) Adorama. But the fact is, they didn't deliver, and their customer service is lacking (they refuse to discuss detailed order status, and merely boilerplate early-May generality).

This is one of the longest examples we've seen of pre-release production models circulating and getting tested with ubiquitous sample footage. Thomas couldn't have picked a worse example to criticize impulsive early adopters.
 
Not sure why you'd want to shoot in 16-235 when you can have more luminance in post with 0-255. Unless you don't do any grading at all and you just rather have 16-235 to start with.
 
I'm wondering if all the USA cameras landed in California & are being shipped across the country via ground transportation. Would explain why LA had them first & the next batch is showing up in Texas, while NYC is still waiting.

hmmm.. dunno... I usually get my Amazon shipments from a Reno or Las Vegas warehouse. Dont know if Amazon's allotment had to go to to some central warehouse first... but that would seem very un-amazon like. They are all about getting things out FAST.

still no change on the status of my Amazong Pre-Order... still shows a release date of April 30

dont know if Amazon is bound to some agreement on the release date, or they just dont have them yet, or if its some internal thing.
 
You think Adorama or BH gives a crap about people complaining here about not getting their GH 4 this afternoon? They don't give a single damn. They will still keep selling millions and millions of dollars worth of camera equipment. Just in their store alone. Whomever ordered a GH 4 camera from them will get it, if they stil want it, whenever THEY get it. Not a day earlier. And I don't work for either one BTW, I just know the way they operate.

Well, if anyone was paying attention during the infamous D800 preorder debacle of days long gone, one would assume to be cautious about ordering from the big boys. :-)
 
I just received email from B&H this morning and I thought it was shipping info on my GH4 but nooo, it was this :
