GH3 GH4 Premiere editing?

For graded footage, sure. Certain effects can be processed on the GPU. But simply playback of media in a matching sequence is all CPU.
Hi Jim, just curious where you got this information. Do you have any articles that we can read about it? I'm curious about their reasons for doing it this way. Thanks!

Thanks, Jim. I think I understand better now. I wasn't referring to CUDA/OpenCL acceleration which provides raw processing power, but other technologies that offload video decoding to dedicated video-decoding functionality on the video card, like DXVA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX_Video_Acceleration), CUVID (http://www.anandtech.com/show/4380/discrete-htpc-gpus-shootout/13), or UVD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Video_Decoder). I didn't know the exact details of what I was trying to express, but I looked it up so I could describe it more accurately.

I presumed that most video editing software would leverage technology like this regardless of CUDA/OpenCL support, but I don't really know for sure, so the question remains unanswered.

No, the question is answered. Only the CPU is used to decode video in PP. Other programs can take advantage of various GPU technologies for decoding, but Premiere Pro does not.

Well, that may very possibly be the case, but I haven't seen evidence in either direction yet. The brief searches I've made have not uncovered anything.
