If you are an 'official' member of the crew, then the board sound is not a problem. If you are unofficial, then you are potentially in a tricky place? Permissions and rights etc. Shooting live amplified sound with a shotgun is problematic in the extreme. If you are close in, as you pan around, your sound will include what is coming out of monitors, side fills, the subs, the ground stacked or flown line arrays - and many of these are very directional, so the sound balance and quality will be very weird and constantly changing. If you have to shoot from further away with a long lens, then a cheap lightweight tripod and head is going to be wobblytown. If you are more than 20m from the action, with the lens at it's narrowest end, then annoying and tilting will be very jerky. Closer in, perhaps stage side, will look good and not be so wobbly as you'll be on your lenses wider range. The sound, in my view will be more a problem than the picture. At the very least, a portable recorder aimed at the PA and not moved will be better. I dot lots of go pros around stages for interesting cutaways, and the sound is ALWAYS awful - not quality, but what you can hear. One last week had great pictures, but all you could hear was a very loud guitar - everything else was almost missing.
