GH4 GH4 Lens mount weight limit

I'm curious what the realistic weight limit is for a lens on the GH4 before risking bending the mount. I know the rule of the thumb is "the weight of the camera" but didn't know if the GH4's mount was a bit more robust than this rule of thumb. Normlly we use a lens support, but we cant use them on our Letus Helix.. any advice is welcomed. Thanks!

The Sigma 18-35 is probably the heaviest lens I'd ever put on my GH4 body. It was the first lens I purchased to pair with my GH4 and it hasn't caused issues so far. I wouldn't go more than double the body's weight without getting added support. The Sigma is 28.48 oz; the GH4 is 19.75 oz, so its 8.73 oz heavier than the body itself.

Edit: My Math was wrong. It's a wonder I passed high school.

I am using the Olympus 75-300mm which is 14.92 oz with no problem. If I were using the Panasonic 100-300mm at 18.24 oz I would be inclined to get this http://www.roesch-feinmechanik.de/29701.html

My math was wrong earlier. The Panasonic 100-300 should be fine without any support on the GH4 body. Anything over 39.5 oz is too heavy for the camera. And that's probably stretching it. I'd say nothing over 34.5 oz to be safe,

David, you just made my day if that's actually safe. The 14mm CNE is 2.6lbs + speedbooster. You sure the M43 mount can take that?

My own personal experience with lens mounts is that stainless steel mounts don't start warping that easily. However stability is another thing, as is the body the lens mount is attached to. General rule of thumb is not to exceed the body's weight.
