Hi Everyone!

Here's a video I recently shot in Yosemite toward the end of spring. While it was sunny, snowing, and raining hard, the GH4 was completely drenched and it handled anything nature threw at it. I'm so satisfied with this camera and there will be a review from me soon.

Please enjoy the video!

Yes Yosemite is a good place to show off the talents of the GH4. I've had my GH4 for 3 days now and am very satisfied with the video quality. I also owned an AX100 for a few days, but returned it because the GH4 was superior for my landscape shooting needs in a number of ways; e.g. better viewfinder, better image stabilization (with most Pany lenses), much more flexible video recording options, much better in-camera control of color & white balance, much better control of in-camera sharpening, less bulky etc. etc.

Thank you for the kind words guys! I was amazed with how well the flip out screen even held up with rain and snow bouncing all over it. One thing I noticed though is that the evf got foggy after a while, but that's to be expected since it was freezing. The 12-35mm Lumix lens really saved me for those gritty situations as well.

Those snow shots are breathtaking, nice work. My in-laws live right near the front entrance to Yosemite, we go a few times a year, it is a magical place.

Thanks for posting. I thought it looked nice but the highlights are showing some limitations imho. Landscape skies are about the toughest situation to capture with any camera outside of RAW shooting though.

Thank you so much for watching!

The skies were completely overcast on those days where you see that it's not raining or snowing. However, I did run into some highlight limitations on certain shots. It seems like the GH4 struggles more with highlights than shadows in terms of dynamic range.

Yes, overcast skies are the situation I was speaking about. Quite a large contrast ratio from the shadows of the forest to the sky for any camera. You are new to the camera so maybe over time some settings can be worked out to improve the look of the images.

Looks great. I agree the GH4 looks good to me with nature type stuff which is what i'm using it for right now. Cinemasteve87 if you don't mind me asking what apertures on the 12-35 to get everything so crispy sharp? I'm happily spending too much time with this camera.

Thanks! I used various apertures during the waterfall scenes in the beginning, but shot wide open at 2.8 while it was raining and snowing. Even at 2.8 the lens is razor sharp which is almost too much for me sometimes so dialing the sharpness preset back certainly helps.
