GH4 GH4 and timelapse external shutter trigger

I would like to use my GH4 in a timelapse rig - a slider and a control unit to move the camera in a shoot-move-shoot configuration. I've tried the manual but can't find anything on whether the gh4 is able to receive an external signal to trigger the shutter - anybody any ideas?

Page 353 of the advanced US manual talks about the DMW-RSL1 remote trigger. No discussion of the connector or signal but that's the part I got for my GH3, it's a passive switch with a trrs plug on the end.

Yes it can, there's a port on the grip side for remotes.
