Hi there,
I am about to shoot some GH4 aerial footage which will end up mixed with some interviews shot on Sony F5 with SLog 3.
Do you guys have any feedback or some interesting case histories to share?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers
I'm shooting a music doc with a GH4 as B cam (using Cinelike D) and F5 as A Cam using Slog 2. So far so good. Sometimes with lit scenes (such as interviews) the GH4s smaller dynamic range (11ish to 14) means quite a bit of tweaking of lights to get them both looking right and not blowing out windows etc, but generally its been totally fine to grade the footage to match, as long as you've nailed the exposure in camera.
Since your shooting completely different subject matter you should be fine. We've mixed GH3 footage with Alexa's in similar scenarios with great success.
After balancing the camera shoot the chart and if you can do the same with any other camera you will be using do it. This will make matching in post much easier with much less effort.
