GH4 Gh4 and G3 Wireless Settings

Ok so I am shooting with my GH4 (normally shoot with C100) and I have having a bit of trouble getting the wireless mic too sound right with this camera. Its super loud and picking up every single thing in the room. I use the same one on the C100 and this dosnt happen so much. Maybe I am missing a sensitivity level in the camera or on the mic. I am not a pro here just shooting for my company so be kind if this is obvious.

My settings now.
GH4 : -6db
G3 Mike : -27

I just cranked it down pretty low.

If anyone has got a really good sound or setup with this can you save me some time and share your settings.

Thanks

Jason - I don't have my G3 units in front of me, but I know that I always have my GH4's mic input gain at the lowest setting it will go. The G3 wireless has two gain settings, one for the mic and one for the output of the receiver. You want to set the mic gain setting according to how loud someone speaks, and set the receiver's output gain so that it doesn't clip/overload the input on the GH4 when the GH4's mic input gain is set at its lowest setting. You want to find a balance between a clean signal and minimal background noise, so that you can raise the signal in post if needed. I hope this helps a bit.

Thank YOU!!! this helps a ton, I am going to try this right now and see if I can get a better sound from the camera. I love the idea of working with the GH4 and its small footprint and 4k. I dont care what all the others say about not needing 4k right now. I can't count the times I go back for footage I have shot over the last few years and use it for b roll and other videos and the quality is so bad compared to what we are shooting with now. I just have to learn a few things like the bet pic styles and mic type stuff so I can get it up and running. So excited to figure this out. Thanks for the input and I will let you know how it works out.

My settings:
Transmitter -24dB (ME4 mic)
Output from receiver (AF Out): -18dB
GH4 Mic input: -3dB
To overcome the infamous electronic noise problem it would even be better to increase AF out (say, -9dB) and decrease accordingly the input on camera (say -12dB).
I am not doing this because I would have to increase and decrease the input level every time I switch to/from G3 and input mics.
