I hope it's an anomaly if not I'll likely have to get a grey import from Hong Kong (which will still be PAL), if that is the true UK price then they'd have to have the same markup across Europe to prevent everyone importing.
 
Can't wait to see the price here in Croatia...I'm guessing borderline $3K without the lens, shutter button, flip display and sensor.

I am told the EU body only is 1199EUR, the US body only $1299. But the UK body only appears to be $2500 (£1550) – yes you read that correctly! I asked Panasonic why and they say pricing isn’t final yet. But then WEX are a major retailer, and they are taking pre-orders at that strange price right now. The European Panasonic guys were not aware of this.

That would mean UK buyers can buy in the EU (so no VAT on the price) for £962.56 so I can only imagine WEX has made a mistake or is trying to overcharge for pre-orders.
 
Wow! In 1998 I bought two Mamiya 7II cameras from the UK, Robert White. Along with the 50, 65, and 80 mm lenses.

Cost $50 in shipping arrived in 2 days. The US price at teh time was literally twice as much! Like the US marketer was doing us some big favors somehow.

But ... but ... no US warranty says Mamiya USA. Yeah, but I have a complete second body as backup while I ship it to Canada for service. :)

Looks like I might have a new carreer travelling around on Ryan Air with GH3 "used" cameras as a tourist! Sounds like I have to get them from Hong Kong? are they not both NTSC and PAL capable? Weird ...

The UK guide price is £1099. £1799 for 14-140 kit and 2k for 12-35 kit. Not too bad considering the price of both GH1 and GH2 kits at launch.
 
The Camera shop in Ireland are selling the GH3 body only for 1,900 Euros which is double the American price. This is ridiculous. I rang panasonic to complain and got some nonsense about transportation costs and taxes. I really hope I can get it in the UK for a more reasonable price.

You can if need be order from Germany, it's 1,799 Euros with the 14-140mm lens.

I can only assume some retailers are trying to pull a fast one.

I might end up having to do that. The worries I would have are 1) Difficulty of returning if there is a problem with the camera. 2) Are all the menus going to be in German? Is it going to be pretty straightforward to change them to English?
 
Hopefully there will be some UK Retailers that list the GH3 at a sensible price eventually. I'm waiting for that, for now.

Other than the weather sealed body, from the opinions I’m reading so far, the GH3 has a number of compromises compared to a GH2 (especially an already hacked one) so I’m beginning to question if I need to rush buying it.
 
Thanks man. Yeah good points there. GH2 prices will be dropping as well (hopefully). I don't have either at the moment as I was waiting for the GH3. Going to have to wait and see how the prices pan out.
