GH3 GH3+Panasonic 35-100mm or Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm/f2.8 vs Voigtlander 25mm

hhahaa ok.

I know I'm a bit late in the conversation, but I had also seen the Vietnam video, as well as the night walking around one by Andrew Reid (EOSHD)
http://vimeo.com/31835141 and fell in love with the voigtlander.

I totally understand how you feel about being inspired. And I think you'll totally enjoy the lens. But don't be surprised if in six to twelve months you end up selling it and later going on the path that Dan Carter, bprater and Bruce Foreman recommend, which are the zooms.

I've gone through exactly those steps in the last two years. Started with the 20mm and 14mm primes. Bought the Voigtlander 25. Then sold the Voigtlander to purchase some third party zooms (Tokina 28-70 2.6/-2.8, Tokina 11-16). Then repurchased the Voigtlander.

Only to end up with the Panasonic 12-35mm in the end that's staying on my GH2 90% of the time. And my next purchase will be the 35-100. For everyday shooting, the image stabilization and autofocus of the new zooms just make it simpler to grab footage wherever you need it, permitting easier handheld, more range, and ultimately, more versatility.

Here's my video contribution, an event video in which I used the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 along with some zooms: http://vimeo.com/60177807

Alain many thanks for the kind explanation, seems the vietnam video inspired many people aswell. it might be the camera, the lens, the girls, the colors, the music haha but it is magic.

yes you can adapt. The voigtlander has a manual aperture control ring. You can get it declicked by Duclos if you want to upgrade later.

Dulcos can't declick this lens as the aperature ring is in front.

BTW... this is my all time favorite lens. 25mm is perfect (kind of like a standard lens on a FF camera) and just beautiful. Though I have others the Voightlander is on my camera 99% of the time.
