GH3 GH3 or GH2 for B Cam?

As an addition to what J.F.R. said, I would mention that I just love shooting with the Nokton 25mm f/0.95 and that it does indeed go some way towards addressing the lowlight gap.

But I would NOT shoot ISO 3200 on the GH2 for normal narrative work, just documentary-style stuff, etc.

I almost always wish I'd shot anything that's at ISO 2,500 or above at a lower ISO.

GH2/3 is not the camera for such high iso work.

Look towards the Mark III or more expensive cameras.

The vaguer the question the vaguer the answer. It would help to know what you except from a B-Cam.

Is it for coverage from another angle, &/or in case the A-Cam goes down?

If so then it be best if it had the same colorimetry, & DR. This will save huge amounts of time in post, & ultimately look better. It will also save time on set, with fewer types of chargers, batteries, accessories, widgets, etc., etc, not to mention the mental effort wasted navigating different menu systems while under pressure.

Eh, I've cut GH2 720/60 slow mo in with Epic slow mo for a 1080 delivery and to be honest, yeah I noticed it but it was fine for the few seconds it was up there. It's far more important to color match the footage to the main camera at this stage... resolved detail etc, it's there.

I personally wouldn't shoot above 1600 with a GH2 and likely a GH3 without an 0.95 present. Although the noise is pretty tame, I do NOT like the behavior of color under lowlight conditions from either camera. If I couldn't get it at 1600 then I'd just let it go or grab a different camera.

Of course, that's just me.

@Bern Caughey ... looking for B Cam to cover different angle. I appreciate all the input and I think I am going for another GH3 once it is available.
