I'm hoping someone will say this isn't a problem and tell me how to solve it, but I think I'm going to be out of luck.
My GH3 was being used with a battery in the body, working fine. Next day I try and turn it on and nothing. I attached the battery grip with a new battery and then it powered up, but no matter which battery I try the GH3 will no longer power at all from a battery in the body. The setting to make the battery grip the primary power source, whether set to the grip or the body makes no difference.
I've heard directly from a documentary maker in the UK, that his GH3 developed a similar fault before mine, in that it decided it wasn't powering on (he didn't have a grip to test it with), he's been told it's a 6 week wait time for parts for the GH3 to make it to the UK.
If anyone has any suggestions for ideas before returning it, I'm all ears.
