gh3 in creative manual video mode; but I cannot control exposure control..is this possible? again; i'm in manual mode...but cannot seem to access exposure compensation...is there a solution?

It is expected that you do exposure compensation by directly adjusting either aperture (best), shutter speed (probably should remain at 1/60th (NTSC) or 1/50th (PAL), or by adjusting a variable ND filter if using one.

You can tell how much compensation by watching the meter indicator at the bottom of the screen (or EVF) and if you have CONSTANT PREVUE set to ON you should see the effect of exposure shift in the viewfinder or on the LCD.

Because you are in Manual Exposure mode you have direct access to exposure controls you do not have in the AUTO modes and exposure compensation is not necessary.

I thought exposure comp was an independent function. For example when i place the camera in speed priority; the camera controls only the apert (and when in lower light using a lens like the 7-14mm...the camera will always shoot at 4...totally wide open to gather max light)... so now I have control over speed/iso AND exposure comp. So it is indeed a separate function....why cannot I access that sep function of the exposure comp in creative Manual mode?

Because there is nothing automated by the camera ie you have to set all values manually. So using exposure comp will do nothing as you will still have the same aperture, shutter speed and iso no matter how much you vould change the exposure comp.
When you use any automated settings as A/P/S the camera is changing aperture or shutter speed or both or iso depending on automated mode you chose to use.
When the "camera" is in an automated mode it will deside on what it thinks is the right exposure and thats when exposure compensating can come in handy since what the camera thinks is the right exposure might not be at all whats the right exposure.
But in manual mode everything is as the name sugest manual and you have all control and resposibility of all settings.

Because it would be redundant if it were available in that mode. You can make ANY EXPOSURE "COMPENSATING" CHANGE YOU WANT with the basic exposure controls.

Exposure compensation is there in the automated modes (P,A, and S) because for any thange you make in what you can change in those modes, the exposure system in the camera will give you a "PERFECT" exposure. Exposure compensation is the ONLY way to shift exposure lighter or darker.

If you're in "M"anual exposure mode in "motion picture" it is presumed you want full manual control. An exposure compensation of 1 to 2 stops darker is easy, just "dial in" what you want by the exposure meter and the look of what's displayed with the viewfinder or LCD.

Exposure compensation is just not there in full manual. Quit "fighting" it and work with what you have. I was doing exposure compensation in my head since the days when most cameras didn't even have a "match needle" meter system built in. We used the table on the data sheet that came with each roll of film, or we used a separate handheld exposure meter (still had to interpret what those read).

The GH3 is a tremendous photography and motion picture tool!
