GH3 GH3 in Australia

Yep still waiting on my pre order from Gerry Gibbs. Hopefully this week. I shot Panasonic Australia a facebook msg and they got back to me listing digital cam warehouse and Michaels as stockists for melbourne though i think Michaels will be overpriced as usual.

i just called them up today for melb stock....they said expecting delivery "in a couple days", expecting 9 or 12 units, i cant remember. Gerry gibbs got back to me saying the same thing, stock is in transit. another site listed 3-10 days till available. So i think they are coming, just a matter of if they have any spares on the shelf after fullfilling any pre orders.

best thing for me is to pre-occupy myself with something lol

Lol... same here. I have some jobs coming up in a couple of weeks and it would be nice to use the GH3 on them...

You gotta wonder how many monkeys Panasonic have working on the GH3 production line. (that wasn't an Asian slur, my daughters are Eurasian.)
For once the GH3 is actually cheaper to buy here but it doesn't do 60p. I'm still trying to decide whether to buy one here and hope for a 60p hack or get one from the US. It would be an easier decision if I could actually find one!

I was quite surprised too...reason why I held off on an import. I think its got more to do with australia not being high on the distribution list. we get allocated pittance, was the same with the gh1, I had a mate that was manager for a major cam store and he said in one of their shipments they only allocated 12 units for the whole of australia back then lol. then again to this day when you say you shoot with a lumix people still scratch their heads.

Just called Digi cam warehouse in Brisbane. No GH3's in stock, sold out from back-orders. Won't have any in a month's time :(

just got tracking confirmation for my pre order from gerry gibbs. Stock must have come in today. You guys might want to try giving them a ring to see if they got spares, postage is pretty cheap too.

Just put down a deposit with Gerry Gibbs yesterday. They said they might have some bodies in next week. plus I think their the cheapest I've seen for Australia so far. Fingers crossed :)

camerasdirect is listing it for $1175, cheapest yet. but eta on stock unkown. they say expected delivery within 3-10 days. so if anyone is not waiting, keep an eye out for this one.

I too want to buy the GH3 as I've been a super longtime GH2 and panasonic user, but I can tell you that having used a few Sony NEX camera that the GH2 has a run for it's money coming from them. Albeit a differnt pricepoint the flagship FS700 is simply amazing.... Its so hard now going back to 60p. that seems kind of silly now...

Hope it lands soon... I want to get mine in March. Still a killer camera and I hope the stills are improved

the sony FS700 is one fine camera. 480fps should be the standard now lol.

well the gh3 does have a "sony" sensor so we are half there =)
