GH3 GH3, High Definition 1080p TV

Hi
Is the GH3 capable of shooting high definition contents similar to that of the HD ENG cameras used on PBS documentary programs?
Although hacked GH1 is considered 1080p camera, I never was able to produce the definition not even close enough to match those high definition cable TV contents on the 53" 1080p LCD TV.

depends on whos asking and what features (and shows) you're comparing .
but keep in mind. there are reasons that some cameras cost $100k and others cost $2k

I don't expect the GH3 to produce a quality as close to 4000K camcorder, let alone $100k. Maybe I misunderstood the term high-definition.
The 1080p HD TV technology is a decade old and the decade old contents produced by the National Geographic film crews in the middle of the desert or even simple BBC HD contents look very sharp on a typical HD TV. The only limit is the max resolution of the HD TV which is 1080p. So I don't understand why the high end portable camera such as GH2 which claims to be 1080p capable can't produce contents that are as sharp as the HD broadcast camera.
Will the upcoming hack on the GH3 solve this?

In my opinion, nothing to solve, the GH3 is very sharp.

For the record, when you're talking about "high definition", you're referring to detail and sharpness and not anything else also, correct? Just making sure, because not everyone knows what it means. I would expect the sharpness and detail to be fairly close, but the difference would be in color quality, dynamic range, etc which all can enhance the quality.

youre not considering things like sensor size, color sampling, lens quality, etc... hell, the lenses on some of those "broadcast cameras" cost 25x (or much more) the price of a gh3

not that price is always directly related to quality. but in this discussion - it is.

if you wanna go pixel peeping and comparing apples to oranges you will certainly find some differences. but from what ive seen, the gh3 is perfectly capable of producing relatively stunning output.
but you simply cant go comparing a lexus to a bentley
