perfect example of how to make the simple GH3 menu seem like a maze :) chaotic but thanks for the peep.

look out for the bit where he mentions frame rate for slow motion/hack... is he clueless or am i? haha
 
He is a nice guy but I really don’t think he knows what he is talking about. I can’t believe that Panasonic hands their cameras out like candy to anyone with a blog but makes everyone else who actually knows how to use it pay full price and wait in line.
 
Tip: The good stuff doesn't show up until about 7:45.

Also, he's clearly not on the same level of expertise as the Philip Blooms of the world. How the hell did this hack get his hands on a prerelease camera?! (And can I join that club? I'm just as big a nobody as he.)
 
yeah i like him, he seems a cool guy, seen a few of his video's in the past :) wish he had gone into more of those settings tho, i was eager to see more details about certain features! still a nice teaser while we all wait tho :)

you going to get a GH3 mpgxsvcd? saw your 35-100mm lens video, that boy's getting good at climbing :) how are you finding it? i should be getting the 12-35mm GH3 kit and was looking to get the 35-100 also.

It is actually interesting because I sat on a plane with two of the people that work for him. They both had Canon safari vests on but no cameras in sight. I showed them my GH2 and they said that Will had one as well but they really had no clue about it.

I told them about reviewing the m4/3s cameras on youtube and what do you know. A couple of weeks later their channel appeared and now he masquerades as a Micro Four Thirds expert. I am glad they started their channel. The more the merrier. However, I hope he puts a little more effort into learning the camera than he has so far.

Yes I will actually get my GH3 in about 2 weeks if everything goes as planned. I got my 35-100mm F2.8 just in time to shoot two weddings in 12 hours as well.

I absolutely love the 35-100mm. If I had to choose between the 35-100mm and the GH3 I would choose the 35-100mm. Luckily I don’t have to choose and I will have both soon.

Is this the video you saw? I really thought this video turned out well. It just gives you the sense that the kids are having fun doing what they love. By the way I competed in the adult comp that night on the same problems that my son completed. I got 1 of the 5 he completed. These problems are a lot harder than the kids make them look.


I plan on doing a proper menu walkthrough when I get my GH3. What kind of things do you guys want to see? I will test everything and have downloadable samples up on Vimeo right away.
 
The GH3 as a still camera is as important as it is a video camera for me. I shoot time lapse a lot with my GH2 and like how the image looks and the new GH3 is supposed to be even better and has a built in time lapse feature. YES! No more remote dangling from the camera. Huge. This new camera is going to great. I only wish I had it now!!!

The battery grip is next. Model DMW-BGGH3. $200 but I think worth having, also the battery is different so will need to get a couple extra. $79 each for Panasonic version DMW-BLF19
Extra battery charger model DMW-BTC10. Not like the GH2 model that plugs directly into the wall this one has a power cord.
Found this on Panasonic site. A zoom lever model DMW-ZL1 $30.

mpgxsvcd did a great video for the GH2 showing the menu and video settings in a direct and no frills way. Worked for me. Thanks!
