GH3 GH3 Beginners Guide

Just a marketing video.....

Not just, but also a basic introduction to the camera. I found it useful. Good marketing as far as I'm concerned on the part of Aussie Panasonic.

Thanks to the OP for posting.

Having to wait a little to order mine and watching this makes the sweet anticipation all the more painful.....

I've have purchased both the Canon 5D Mark iii and the 60d. I found this video very informative and look forward to the arrival of my Panasonic GH3.

I prefer watching video than reading the manual any time. This video is actually quite informative for new GH3 users. I am users of G1/GH1/GH2, and I still find this video with good information. Thank you for posting.

I agree! I'm glad it was posted, too. I am excited for a more in-depth video on some real 'how-to' shooting tips with it, tips, etc. similar to the sticky on this board for the gh2.

Thanks for posting. For those looking for all the answers on how to use the GH3, or any other camera for that matter, for weddings, features or even family videos just buy the darn camera, experiment with it and learn it. That is what a true pro, semi-pro or serious enthusiast does. We all now that the GH3 is pretty much capable of recording well anything that you put in front of it. I can't understand why people need to be taken by the hand and safely walked through the learning process. There is plenty of info out there to be basically knowledgeable about the camera first and then there is practice and learning time with it in your very own hands.

John, while I certainly agree with you, there are reasons why boards like this one, books, videos, etc exist. We all can improve by not only experimenting on our own, but also asking opinions and thoughts of others.

anyone know where i can find test between gh2 and gh3 for stills?

seriously considering selling my gh2 for gh3.

Your post came across as very condecending to anyone who would dare ask for advice instead of just trying to discover it themselves. But, do you really want your first paid wedding gig (as that's the example you used) to be where you get to know how to shoot one? I wouldn't expect someone's first wedding to be the first time they picked up their camera, but I certainly do a lot of research if I'm taking on a new type of project. And if someone is just getting into shooting weddings/events/their dog, sometimes it can be quite daunting, and a little help from someone experienced goes a long way.

Even when I have a camera, and have had it for a while, there are always settings that other people have found, techniques that others use, and tips and tricks that I have not yet (and may not have ever) discovered on my own. I just learned something new about focusing with my 14-140 lens on my GH2 just the other day from a post someone made.

Some true enthusiasts don't have, or are just not willing to spend the cash to just buy a $1200 camera and test it out to see how they like it. Shoot, I'm a pro, and I don't just go buying cameras willy nilly to see which I like the best. I do a lot of research, then when I find the one I feel meets my needs, then I buy it and go from there.

I don't know what professionals you hang around, but I for one am always eager to learn something from someone else, a hard lesson or a good tip or trick. Granted, yes, there's certainly a lot of things you just can't learn unless you go out and do them yourself, but in my experience there is a time for trial and error and there is a time to learn from others' trials and errors.

Thanks to the OP for posting this video. It's a good initial look at the GH3. I'm certainly not the kind of user that would just buy a cam to see if I liked it, and then return it if I weren't satisfied. There's certainly enough info and testimonials from users you trust on the net to make a decision.
