Been looking around for some tests on the combo as I want to rent the lens for a doc shoot, anyone seen any or used the combo yet?

just shot a wedding with it, check back sometime after the weekend LOL. Initial reactions - GREAT OIS. Focus AF is slow and wish it was a more accurate, not bad mind you, certainly leaps and bounds better than the 14-42 (not that it's saying much). However I used it for glidecam purposes...the 12mm F2, despite being a stop faster with shallower dof, had the edge IMO. The Panny is slower to AF which some cases will be a benefit but the OLY is smooth, hunts less, and seemed more accurate to me, then again, I've only used the 12mm for a day so far.

I have it: It's great. Just the right size, very nice build quality. Of note, unlike all the other Panny lenses I've used, the zoom ring is very smooth and dampened.

Like Psynema, I'd agree the image stabilization is pretty great. (Although that might be because I've been using primes so much I forgot how great OIS really is). Not sure I agree about the autofocus though, it seems plenty fast/accurate for me.

yup need a run gun wide zoom and seems to be a nice weight compared to other zooms in that range I have used Tokina, Nikon. I guess asking to much for a lens with character but is it just less videoy like than the 14-140?

Shot a mess of family video this past week with only the 12-35 and Voigtlander 17.5. With those two lenses, I think I'm set for most any familiar situations. I wasn't Mr. LensScience McSupershooter or anything, but I'll have some stuff to post soonish.

Already used both on a few corporate shoots to good effect.

Oddly AF works quicker and iris is smoother on the AF100.

Thanks, this is really important as I was thinking of replacing my oly 12mm with this Panny lens for steadicam work. Seems I should stick with Oly 12mm.

Haven't done steadicam tests yet but the 12-35 is AWESOME! Probably will replace the 7D with 17-55 is for my work (I have shots many projects with that combo and have put the 17-55 on the GH2 as well). I have wanted image stabilization on the GH2 with the 17-55 for a long time but no one makes an adapter that will power the lens IS. 12-35 IS is very good and in panning tests handheld it looks like tripod work. TeleCrop mode on the GH2 really helps the range of the lens and is tack sharp. Manual focus on the 12-35 is good and will work well with a follow focus. Auto focus while recording is slow, not recording lightning fast.
