GH2 GH2 still going strong for -20c corporate shoot

Just wanted to share as it's been awhile, and people seem to have moved on to other cameras...the GH2 continues to get used in the most demanding of environments by me. I shot this corporate piece using GH2's in minus 20 weather in Edmonton, Canada back in November. Not a single error. Cameras were rock solid. The weather made the grease in the lens barrels pretty sluggish but everything held up great for the exterior shots. I used a Kessler pocket dolly for slides and an hd400 glidecam for upping the production value. Lift shots we're from a 60ft Genie we hired out. Interviews were shot with 50mm and 35mm (with speedbooster). Interior interview lighting was with a 1k to a 5x3 bounce and a couple of Lowell pro kickers for hair and background lighting. Edited and coloured in fcpx 10.1

Nice look to it Paul. Thought the interior shoots and interview sold the place well.
Was wondering if you shot this with a stock gh2, or did you have a patch on it?

Thank you Ned. Yes, I had LPowell's Flowmotion 2.02 setting applied to the cameras. Great results while keeping file size under control using this one.

Fantastic work. I gotta say, when I saw that this was a corporate piece about apartments, my mind was thinking "ok, I'll just watch the first 10 seconds or so". I easily watched the whole piece and enjoyed it, despite my initial prejudice ;) I think that's the mark of success. Very engaging edit and beautiful shots!

Really solid stuff OP, I too planned on just scrubbing through but I actually found myself watching it. Which is rather rare for a corporate video so they are definitely lucky they hired you!

The look and presentation is nicely stylized without being over the top. The GH2 works great here but I imagine you could make any camera look good.

Cheers

edit: Only thing I would add is that it seems like the music borders on overpowering the voices at times. Especially with the woman at about 45 seconds.

Thanks for the great feedback guys. I do appreciate it! Yes, it's a challenge for me to get the music bed levels just right so I will have another listen to it. I always want to be learning how to do things better, take risks, develop my storytelling style and pay closer attention to details.

As others have said, wonderfully done. A joy to watch and listen to. Question, what did you use to get the shot at 2:13? Is it some kind of crane/slider setup from another apartment building or did you use a flying rig?
