GH2 GH2 sound problem

I have random clips that either have no sound for the entire clip, or it will cut in/out in the middle of clip.

Neither the MTS file, nor the converted prores file has the sound. The clips were recorded with a Rode VMPro going straight into the GH2.

My first guess is that alot of these clips were shot with the audio levels way too hot. Is it possible that the GH2 has some trigger-off when the levels are too hot? Or could it be the SD card?

No, the GH2 would have just recorded a boat load of distortion. My guess is you or whomever recorded the files made a poor mic to camera connection or used a compromised cable.
 
Hmm, i don't think it was a poor connection. could it be that i'm using inexpensive 3.5/2.5 adaptors from mike to camera?
