Damn - the underlying concept was really good - but could have added some stuff in that would have made it a lot better.

Good effort.

Heres what i would have done if I had come up with the initial idea. Set up the pixel peeping pic before hand. Have yourself looking out of the window of the house. Have a scrawled message in blood in one of the open books... stuff that you can see but only really if you look closely by zooming in a bit (obviously resolution would be important.) For the finale... you see one of the small girls coming through the door behind him... holding a knife... and a doll. :)

Missed opportunity.

thanks for your thoughts :)
i still think it came up nice (i DO like the in insinuations - not pointing it out directly.. it's a matter of taste)
.. considering i done it on the spot in an hour..

Hey - its probably better than I could do. Maybe if you had time you could reshoot it in the future though and make it festival worthy?

For me it was far too long for the payoff. I also think some more 'demons' in the machine 'effects' would be better early on when viewing the static shot of the girls, from the first 'zoom in' there sould be stuff happening in the background so the viewer is more quickly tuned into 'watching for what's next'... rather than watching for 'anything at all'... For example, branches in the background shifting... in a still image... or when the main character adjusts brightness/contrast, there is some reveal of some thing.

I think it could be chopped down to 2:00 and play fairly well.

thanks for the input..
yea, i guess that there could have been minor "mini" developments in building the weirdness around the picture,
but still, i did want it all to be built very slowly. of course it's not perfect with those little details. it has to be extra precised for such
a short "feel" time..

cool concept. I liked how simple story was. Also for a short, it got its point across. Mission accomplished!

This was very good in the time you had to do it. I especially like the sound design. Mostly the sound of you zooming in. You should rework it and have a better ending. Well done!
