GH2 GH2 - settings keep being reset when camera turned off.

Having a really annoying problem on my GH2. Every time I turn it off, on restart all my settings have been reset.
So I have to go thought the menus and turn on 'shoot W/O lens', quality to 24h etc.
Its incredibly frustrating and dangerous if you forget something before a shoot.

Anyone come across this before?

Used to have this problem with an HV30 when I used only 3rd party batteries, for whatever that's worth.

I'm wondering if re-flashing the firmware might make a difference, or is this being caused by a piece of hardware that's suddenly gone defective. ( memory chip or capacitor that's gone bad )

I went back to stock, then changed my patch to a different one. Neither worked.

Sounds like you've now got a hardware defect, which will likely require an expensive repair from Panasonic.

I think your choice is to get a repair estimate from Panasonic, or look at buying another used GH2.

Like everyone else and their mother, I'm going for the BMC pocket when it arrives, so I'll put up with it until then.

Yeah, I'm keen on adding a BMC Pocket camera to my kit too. That sunlit market footage that John Brawley shot looks totally awesome. 13 stops of dynamic range!

Can't believe I saw some people complaining about clipped highlights on that. Are you serious? An image like that from a $1k camera?
