Hi All

Strange one this. Filming the weekend when all of a sudden whist camera is recording it just jumped into the Movie mode menu and stopped recording. Press record again, few seconds later jump to menu again.

Camera has standard v1.1 firmware. Ownuser battery grip with one panasonic and one third party battery in it.

Also the battery meter went down faster than normal. Do you think the third party battery could be causing this or the battery grip itself??

Thanks

I have the exact same setup, except I'm running driftwood hack, but GH2, own user battery grip, oem battery on one side, generic battery on other side 64gb 95mb/s sd card --- damn camera will stop recording and the freaking menu screen - the movie mode menu- will pop up… It seems like there is a short or something, because it will flicker the movie mode screen on and off hella quick. if I press record, it will do it again. and again and again, and I can almost make it happen by pressing just under the lens on the body of the camera with my finger, or it seems like it happens if I tilt the camera the wrong way. This is disastrous.
Anyone else have this issue? any solutions?

Had the same problem frequently, and narrowed it down to the ownuser grip. Ive since stripped out all the electrical insides of the grip {got fed up with the hassle, at critical moments}....and now just use it for handling purposes, and storing a spare battery {the problem no longer occurs for me}.
I only use Panasonic batteries, so your third party battery is not the issue.
