I went back and looked at all of the posts from when the GF1 was first released. It was a huge mess. Amazon listed a specific date and then on the morning of that date they switched the status to usually ships in 1-2 months. Everyone canceled their orders with Amazon then. However, Amazon shipped the cameras 2 days later.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens with the GH2. They are supposed to ship them starting on Monday. However, I bet they won’t ship until Tuesday. Therefore, if you want it before Thanksgiving you will need to do overnight shipping.

If mine does ship on Tuesday from amazon (which I would be very surprised if it does) I have next day and hope it gets here before thanksgiving since I won't be in town.

Late afternoon of the 16th. Provantage handles the order process and then reroutes everything straight to a supplier/distributor who ships the product, at least from what I have been able to gather. Once the supplier confirms, it would be a good sign the ship date is close. Still waiting for that part.

mpgxsvcd, dude... be patient about GH2. Panny Korea is expecting to get 1st shipping around the mid December. I can't imagine Panny USA is getting before Korea. You will be lucky to get it this year. This is due to Panny's usual production delay.

Sorry but I think you are wrong. Anyway, I am just trying to keep people informed.

I really need to get the camera before Thanksgiving and a trip I have next week.
 
So... you believe they will just send it to you because you need it before Thanksgiving? Hey my employer must give me a big raise cuz I really need a big raise!!!

Nope they have been scheduled to ship on Monday all along. Amazon doesn't lie about their dates. However, things can happen. They are rarely off by more than a few days though unless they just cancel your order completely.

We will see who has the camera in their hands next week.
 
I just gotta have GH2. Its improved AF should be fast enough to get tack sharp strobist photo shots. Improved high ISO. No banding at 3200. Sharper LCD. It's definitely a better photo camera than GH1 or GH13. 17Mbps sucks, but 1080p24 should be decent. If the encoder bothers me too much and there's no hack, heck... Blackout.... you are right about GH13. But GH2 is so tempting!!!!
 
Cam's not in at National just yet -- they didn't get the shipment they had expected on the 16th. There is another scheduled shipment for the 25th, but that would be Thanksgiving...

Oh well, no terrible rush. Probably it won't come till December.
 
Samy's just said Panasonic is telling them 2-3 weeks now. Looks like the US GH2 could also be delayed as well as the European ones.

With respect, our CS team members would quite rightly be slammed by customers if they made a 'guess' at the ETA, when the manufactuter's rep either cannot or will not advise our purchasing department!

I always advise customers to keep their orders open unless or until they find a uinit elsewhere. We don't charge a cancellation fee and we don't charge your cc until an order actually ships.

The person you spoke to was simply passing on the info from Panasonic. What we don't know we can't tell you. I really am sorry; we are just as frustrated about this as our customers.
 
Yeah.
Panasonic did this again.
Exactly as expected.
All they could manage to do before Christmas is small batch of cameras.
and as ususal, no one fill be fired.

I applaud you for coming on here and trying to set the record straight. It is service like this that makes me want to purchase an item from Adoroma. You all operate a very fine store and we definitely appreciate any news you can give us.

I completely understand that it is Panasonic's fault here. They simply just are not reliable when it comes to releasing the product. However, if you get any information about when these items will ship please let us know. We are very anxious to get these cameras in our hands and I am sure they will sell out instantly.

I have an update for you; we have just been told to expect a shipment during the first half of December

I'm using the same local authorized retailer that I got the GH1 from and if I can get it before Christmas, that would be great. A 1 month delay is not that bad although I have a shoot either on this coming Saturday or Sunday and I would have been able to use it.
