GH2 on Indigo Jib

Here is our GH2 on a pre-production model of the Indigo Jib. Pan and tilt head and HDMI cable are easily run inside the top tube. It works, great, very smooth. I stripped down the GH2 rig to just have rails and FF to keep the weight down.

Do you have some more info on the jib, mabye some links? Also, let's see some footage!!!

Yes, will post more info in a bit!

And here's the first test with the GH2

Well, we finally got the GH2 and wanted to test in a real production setting. We filmed and edited this, using Sony Vegas Pro 10, in 2 hours. So the work flow with the latest Sony Vegas is superb!

We also wanted to see how the GH2 performs in a setting that is not well lighted. We had one LCD light, but the rest of the kitchen was pretty dark. Hence, the use of the FD lens. Wanted to really put it to the test.

Mmmmm. The pie was GOOD!

NOTES:

Canon 28mm FD lens, wide open, that's why it was a bit soft
ISO between 640-800

**Thanks to Angelie Gamboa for volunteering as our host***

**Thanks to IndiSystem.com for the rig***

The Indigo Jib will be available sometimes in the future in the indisystem web site. We are testing a pre-production model. It is about 7.5 feet but the final version should allow you two different heights (about 6 and 7.5). It can be conterweighted with tradtional weights or with a "water tank" that you can fill up at destination, making it a very light jib to transport. It is also telescopic, and the fold up lenght should be at around 38". I will try to post some footage of the GH2 on that jib. The motion is really smooth.

The indigo jib is obviously meant to support small HDSLR setups. Hope this helps.

Best regards.

What rails are that? That's a 7 foot jib? Like.
Carbon fiber rails and FF are from indisystem. Very light, good quality. Because of weight constraint, that is part of a "Bulldog" rig from Indisystem. You can strip it down easily according to the use you are going to make of it, including Jib use, shoulder mount, or even going handheld removing the shoulder pad and reversing the front handles. It should be on their web site soon. Sturdy, light, and, best of all, made in the USA.

When you say "setups", how much weight are we talking total? Full mattebox and all? What is the estimated street price going to be? Can you buy just the head and controls?

I like the shot between :21 and :26 of her saying "we're going to make Pecan Pie", subtle movement looked good.

Sorry Kit, at this time I do not have all the answers to your questions. This is a pre-production/prototype version. It is however going to be a "lightweight" jib for mainly DSLRs. I can just "guess" it would support a max weight of 10-12lb. But, again, this specs could and will change. By the end off next week I will have a lot more information and specs to share, and I will be able to post something a lot closer to the final production unit. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you!

What is that motorized looking head you got on there? That doesn't come with the jib does it? If not, what is it and how much?

nm, just saw the logo in front. Wonder if it could support the weight of an AF100, and if it's a noisy beast?
