GH2 GH2 No Live view for photography?

im soing some hyperlapsing and need live view so i can line up shots as the camera moves. is live view even possible in this camera?

Yes, live view is of course possible. Some details on what you're seeing would be helpful. I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. Hit the display button or the LVF button and maybe that will solve your problem. Tough to know without any more details...

Oh my bad. I'm running the camera in Bulb mode as the gh2 connected to an intervalometer. Unfortunately it doesn't display the picture until it takes it at the preset interval. So as I'd like to do a moving timelapse, aka hyperlapse I am unable to reframe my camera as necessary because the display is blank until a picture is taken.

Ok, thanks for the detail. Unfortunately I haven't run my GH2 like that with time lapse and bulb mode, so I'm afraid I can't be much help.

So I've managed to pull off some nice hyperlapses in the evening. I set the shutter in the camera at 3.2 seconds and use the intervalometer at a 16 second interval, even though it can be done manually. To line up my shots as I am moving I switch it to auto after it takes a photo, line up my shot and switch it back to manual. I'll be working on this for at least another 6 weeks but will post some results when it's ready.

with a 3 second long shutter? That is wayyyyyy to slow when doing a timelapse dude. Try shooting every 10 seconds with a 3 second shutter and line up your shot without switching to auto for reference. it'll take 10 seconds at least. Plus half pushing the shutter does nothing in bulb mode nor at a 3.2 second shutter

My intervalometer broke (It was wireless and left a battery in the receiver and it corroded it) so again, I can't really test, but here are a few thoughts:

Do you have long exposure noise reduction on? This makes each image take a lot longer to process after shooting. A little countdown appears while it processes before it can shoot another shot. Is this giving you an issue?
Do you have constant preview on, where these really long shutter speeds take a while to update the screen. Is this what is causing your problem? Could you turn constant preview off, once you have your exposure dialed in the way you like it, and just use the live view without shutter speed effect? Or maybe this is what you're saying doesn't work. If I have time I'll mess around with my GH2, just firing it off manually with slow shutter speeds to see if I can tell what you're talking about.

Im not sure if noise reduction is on or if it will make a difference. Is it in the menu settings? In my experience it takes the same amount of time to process as long as the exposure is. 3 second exposure is 3 seconds to process. How do u turn constant preview off? Would that give me anything at all to view for a reference if im shooting long exposure,or just a blank screen?
