GH2 - Need Help With 2 Function Questions

I can't seem to figure two things out...

1. The "Ex Tele Conv" works fine with video, but I can not get it to work with photos. How do you set it up to work with photographs?

2. I also can not figure out how to shoot a photo while taking video. i don't know that I would ever want to do this, but I do want to know how to make it work. The manual says to push down the shutter button all the way to shoot a photo while recording video. When I do this, it merely stops the video recording. Any help?

On your first question. Is your "Quality" setup for RAW (try changing it to JPEG)? Also, you need to change the "Picture Size" to something other than "L" in order to engage the crop feature. (At least, that's what I read off he manual. Still awaiting my GH2... :( - it should be here today...)
 
just found out that you have to be in one of the photo settings on the dial to shoot a still while capturing video.
