GH2 GH2/MTS footage not responding to VLC/Clipwrap-huh?

A client gave me a hard drive containing 170 MTS media files shot with a GH2.

Employing Clipwrap, I transcoded the footage to .mov so the client could view the footage in Quicktime.

But 6 of the files did not transcode.

When I double clicked on those 6 files, no video appeared but the Quicktime audio player popped up.

I clicked on the audio player and there was no audio file.

The 6 MTS files were not large but their .mov versions were only 4k.

Huh?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Be well.

The media is likely damaged/corrupted. See if they can be opened directly in any software. If not, see if the client has backups.

Hi Rob - if you drop us a note (support@divergentmedia.com) and could pass us one of the files, we can at least tell you what's going wrong in more detail - if VLC can't play them either, it does sound like a corrupt clip, but we might be able to help you understand what went wrong.
