So today i got my gh2, i filmed 3 short clips and tried to upload them to the computer. When i put the memory card in my card reader and i open up the card on my computer, my files are not on the card. But if i put the card back in the camera, they are there. If anyone knows what im doing wrong please help. Thanks.

When you view the card on your computer, you should be seeing several directories and subdirectories, with 3 .mts files hiding way down in a "STREAM" sub-sub-directory.

If you arent seeing at least some directories on the card, then your card reader isn't working right.

Are you saying you can see the STREAM directory, but no files are in it? Those are your clips.

Two possibilities: 1) the three clips are somehow combined as that one file. GH2 video is avchd with .mts extension, so that 000.mts would seem to be video footage. Try playing it, if ncessary try renaming it as 0000.mpg to get your player to recognize it.

2) The clips are somehow lost, but thumbnails of them are still present on the card. When you put it in the camera, can you actually play back the footage, or do you just see a still image for each clip?

1, it wont let me play it on the computer. when i save it as a .mpg it says it s not a video file and cant be played.
2, it will let me play them on the camera.

welcome to the world of mts on mac. final cut express doesn't support mts so your gonna have to trans code it to pro res in order to edit it on final cut. do a search on the forum for gh1 mac workflow. should have the answers you need.
