GH2 GH2 Liveview USB?

The USB can only be used to transfer files to a PC. It cancels out all camera functions when used.

Theretically it is possible.
The serviice centers use the USB and a special program to adjust camera settings and have full control over the camera.
They can also view the image produced by the camera.
Unfortunately this program is not available for sale from Panasonic.

It would be AWESOME to get hold of that software, imagine the remote rigs and numerous other possiblities that would open up.

Where did you hear about that program from, tyampel?

....that realy interesting...I guess it should be possibly to have more features over the USB port.

You know, I asked because I have too a 5D II and with a third part software I can capture liveview ( EOS Camera Movie Record). So I think it should possibly one day too with the GH2.
The best is that I don't use the software itself as capture device, instead only as monitor and with Hypercam ( screen capture software) I capture what I see in EOS CMR...and
now thats important you can select in Hypercam every framerate you wish e.g. 12, 13 , 24, 25, 30, 45, ad so on...depends how fast your HD is you can select higher framerate.
I made these recordings long ago....so I should check this again esp. with higher Framerate.

Interesting?

What could be the reasoning from Panasonic not to release such a software or maybe even just an API for USB?

Whats possible with something like that can be seen with OKII USB Follow Focus for Canon Cameras.

The service manual for GH1 refers to this software for doing adjustments after replacing certain parts.
