GH2 GH2 Kit?

I think I'm going to get the GH2 body for £550. How much would it be for the kit? I've looked and it's over £850 and stuff? I only really need lenses, batteries, and memory cards? Would it be cheaper just to get the bundle for £850 or would it be cheaper to buy the body then the lenses etc, separately? I'm 13 so I'm pretty tight with money :undecided

OK, you will need a lens or two. The 14-140 is a great and versatile lens, but a little pricey. For a beginner if you can find a kit with the 14-42 lens, you'll get some decent images and it is also a decent all round lens. The kit includes a single battery and at a pinch you could get by on one but if you can get a second one, you'll be much happier. They don't hold charge that long.

You could go a different way and buy just the body (and an additional battery) and then look for cheap vintage glass. You will need an adapter or two, depending on the type of lens you get, but that can be a really cheap method of getting great images at a reduced cost.

The downside there is that you need to have a little idea as to what you are looking for (search this site, there's gobs of information) and you have to be careful you don't buy a lemon.

I would recommend the 14-42 angle for now, get to know the camera, do some research and move on from there.

If you are looking into making "cinematic" type stuff, start off with a couple good primes. For what you would spend on a 14-140, you could get a bunch of vintage lenses, which look amazing on the GH2! Or you could get a Kipon EF adapter and open yourself up to a great variety of fantastic prime lenses. A very good lens to start off with would be the Sigma 30mm 1.4. It's fast and it's got a really nice look to it! I use it in most of my stuff.
 
I went the Canon FD route which includes the 80-200mm, 50mm, 28mm, and the 14-42 kit.
