GH2 in stock thread

Everyone's pain in this will be paid off when the camera ships... I do think that there should be some changes made with the PD or else who would consider using it next time? It's also a great resource for everyone to voice their feelings here, just would be nice if the consumer division paid attention to it... Seems that only the broadcast side of Panasonic monitors this site... ohhh well,

PD told me they were getting them in on the 17th. I hope mine, which they told me was in stock when I ordered it a week ago, ships on the 17th. I've never wanted a camera so much in my life.

just called PD, they said that they were getting a shipment tonight by midnight and the rep couldn't guarantee i'd get one from that shipment...ordered it the 14th and almost a month later nothing. ridiculous.

Hi All, this is my first post on the site. I've been reading this subforum for the last few weeks learning about the GH2 and eagerly waiting for it to become available to buy. I've been watching most of the GH2 videos that are posted to video and can't wait to get my hands on this camera - in fact, I was hoping to shoot a little project with it at the end of January, but the way the stock situation is going I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it by then. I want to get the complete 14-140 kit from an authorized dealer. What do you think my chances are?

By the way, for those looking for the body only, I have not seen anyone here mention the facebook deal with Panasonic Direct yet. You can get 15% off Panasonic Direct stuff if you "like" Panasonic on Facebook and then go to the "fans only" tab on their profile. So if you do this you can get the body for $765. Unfortunately even with this discount the lenses are still more expensive than at B&H for example, so for me the kit will be a better deal.

I'm one day ahead of you and still noy joy.

Great tip!

Unfortunately for me I have $500 worth of Amazon gift cards saved up so I have to go that route. But if your tip works, I think Amazon just got a bunch of canceled orders. :)

Very frustrating to hear considering I ordered on 01/02. Boo!

Much better than wanting either of the other two options. Most waiting for this camera already have that lens, so the expensive package, I just haven't seen many people discussing that they ordered it.

Thanks for the tip, I just ordered another body. I have two more batteries on order. I finally got a cable that will go from my H4N to the GH2 and it works great. I would have used the GH2 on my shoot today but I only have the one battery. Had to use my HVX200.:Drogar-Thinking(DBG

What cable is that? Are you running audio from your H4n through a male-to-male to your GH2 for easier sync later?

Yes, I wanted to be able to record the same audio to the camera. In some cases there would be no need to use the Zooms audio.
But it is good to have a back up.

I might get one of these also: http://www.juicedlink.com/audio-preamps-mixers-etc-c-66/jl-dt454

Thanks for the links! I want to use the H4n's audio, but I think this adapter will make a more affordable solution than Pluraleyes (provided my unit doesn't drift like some are reporting).

I just need to find a decent solution to mount all of this together that does not cost more than the camera.

It does, it says
This item is currently out of stock and on backorder.
Please note: You can order this now and have us ship it as soon as it arrives.
We will not charge your card for any backordered items, until it is ready to actually ship.

I ordered from them earlier this week, I emailed them 2 times to find out how long the wait is and they did not reply

did you try each kit? My friend picked one up and all went through.

I just called and asked if the GH2 was truly in stock. The guy said no. I asked why it wasn't listed as such on their website, and he said, "I don't know, but it's not in stock."

That was the end of the conversation. I'll just wait for a place that actually has an accurate website :)
