GH2 GH2 in HK - changing PAL to NTSC

Folks,
I'm from Manila, and it seems fastest/cheapest way to get a GH2 right now is to get on a plane and buy one in Hongkong. Only problem is that I am sure these are PAL GH2s.

Has anyone tried the latest Ptool hack and successfully switched a PAL GH2 to NTSC? I can live without the higher bitrates (for now), but I need to be absolutely sure its a fully functional NTSC.

I would test it but I want to wait for a 100% reliable patch first...
And yes we use PAL versions.

hmm... i have a PAL set too, but at this point, there's still no way to record 1080P25 at the peak bitrate (24mbps) right...? i tried 1080i50, but it's only at 17mbps, so still not the 'package' that we in PAL -land want.. isnt it..?
 
@RandyQ: i have PAL GH2 and tested a lot of series, with the hack no problem switch to NTSC and use full options, but must format new, better another card for NTSC. Best use old 2GB card for hack, there are several restrictions for getting higher bitrates, at this time 720p60 with 56MBit, getting 32-48Mbit-rates is in my test, but not finished at all
 
@daidalos Could you explain what you mean by "better another card for NTSC"? I have a PAL GH2 and would like to switch it to NTSC and try the beta settings people come up with. Thanks.
 
vitaly said stalin hack PAL><NTSC is more than reliable so I will take his word for that,meaning 25p becomes 24p at 1080/501 that becomes 1080/60i
 
So its confirmed - that stalin hack for GH2 switches PAL to NTSC reliably? I'm not very concerned about the 1080/24P mode yet - we do all our work with 720/60P.

Actually I am using an unhacked GH1 now and very happy with the 720/60p mode. The only reason I'm considering a GH2 is because it can output to an external monitor during shooting.
