GH2 hack: GH2 asking me to reload firmware hack after I already did...why?

A slight problem here. After I save my hacked firmware in Ptools and upload to my GH2, all is fine.

Then a few hours later, when I turn on my GH2 again, it asks me to reload my hacked firmware? Why does it want to do this a second time?
Does the GH2 forget the firmware hack is there?

Was I supposed to give my hacked firmware a new name. After loading the my 50Mbps 3 GOP hack (the Kae hack) into Ptools, I saved under the same file name "GH2_V10.bin". Was that my mistake, and if so what new name should I give for the hacked firmware before installing on the GH2?

I ask this because I used to have a GH1 and I remember that Vitaly's hack for the GH1 required changing the firmware version number for it to work.

Thanks in advance for help.

Did you delete the firmware file from your SD card after it was loaded? If you leave it there, it will ask you if it should load every time you turn it on and press the play button... Al

i was just about to ask this question.. so no formatting the card once you upload the hacked firmware? do you need the hacked firmware file on the card at all times for the hack to be in effect?

yeah, you should have checked 'version increment' and changed the name of the file (try doing that and see if that helps you).

No, you don't need the hacked firmware file constantly in a card in the camera. It's just used once to update the firmware, but if want to save that hack for future use; for example, replace this hack with a different one and then, replace it back to your first hack - then you shouldn't format the card, yet put it aside and then use a different card to shoot video to. (The card used for video storage-only doesn't have to have any hack or firmware on it hack, but the card should always be formatted each time before shooting video. "Each time" meaning any time you have used the card to transfer files to a PC and then put back in the camera, but "each time" NOT meaning every time before you shoot video.)

Saving hacks on different cards is only relevant if you're out somewhere and need to switch between hacks. Otherwise, you can use one card and keep copying the different hacks from your pc onto a card. (Once you do hacks on your PC, save them on your PC in a folder and back them up.)
Or you can keep them on separate cards anyway, for convenience. If you do keep hacks on separate cards, you can something cheap, like a 2gb SD card - instead of spending money o SDHC cards. But the card you shoot video to should be SDHC, preferably class 10.
