I'm videographer who is finally starting my own production business here in North Carolina. Over the past two years, I've been shooting pretty bareboned without having a borrow and rent equipment from a local university. I'm currently shooting with a Hacked GH2, Lumix 14mm lens, Lumix 14-140 lens, Canon FD 50mm f/1.4, Beachtek DXA-SLR audio adapter. I usually have to borrow lavs, tripod, and shotgun mic.
I'm primarily going to be doing commercials, music videos, wedding films, live events, and some sports. My startup budget is around $3,000. This what I'm looking at purchasing:
Lenses
25mm f/1.4 $499.99
Audio
Tascam DR-40 or H4N for interviews $199-269.99
Rode VideoMic Pro- $229 or Sennheiser MKE600- $399
Lighting
Impact Three-Light Mini-Boom Kit- $219.95
Support
Manfrotto Mvh502A Head, 546b Tripod- $549 with $150 mail in rebate right now
edelkrone SliderPLUS v2- $499
Glidecam HD2000- $495.00
Any other suggestions or thoughts with a $3,000 budget startup are welcomed. Thanks
