GH3 GH2 formatted card in GH3

Does it matter if I format my SDXC cards in my GH2 or GH3 and swap them over ??
Should I just use the GH2 formatted card in the GH2 and likewise for GH3?
 
That should work, but it's always considered best (and safest) to format in the camera the card will be used in. I use cards in my GH3 that were last formatted in the GH2, but as soon as I put it in the GH3 I format it again. As near as I can tell both cameras use the same folder setup.

Both cameras only do a "quick" format where the File Allocation Table is "zero'd out". Any older files are still there and may be only partially overwritten, over time "bits, pieces, and chunks" of previous image and video files scattered around the card may slow the card down. So after transferring a project's "take" to two different external hard drives, I do a "low level" format on the card in my PC (if using a MAC there is a special procedure or utility that must be used for this) which "gets everything", then reformat in the camera before actual use.
