GH2 GH2 effective sensor size in ETC mode?

So...why don't they make this yet? I've been waiting for a company to do this since the first 35mm adapters.
Because there's never been an obvious market for it. It wasn't until the 5D that people demonstrated that they really did want a large sensor video camera. Sure, we could all say we wanted it, but we kept buying 1/3" cameras and believing that 1/2" was a "big chip" so ... why should they change?

Red was sort of along these lines, but they went after "4K" so they don't have the big pixels that they could have otherwise had. Because the Red sensor is 4K and not 1080p, that means that it's 4x sharper, but with pixels 1/4 the size, of what they otherwise would have been.

The AF100 is the first affordable large-sensor camera that is actually oriented towards video. It is, for whatever reasons, 12 megapixels. Don't know exactly why.

But yeah, I would love to see a future AF-model, or maybe the years-overdue VariCam II, using a massive-pixel sensor.

There are 20 selectable frame rates, from 12 up to 60.

I hope this feature will be unlocked in the GH2's firmware one day.

Does the AF100 use the GH2's sensor? If it does then it must do some sort of scaling to get to 1080p. Why couldn't it do the anti-aliasing scaling and do ETC as well?
