Idk. All I know is, I have plenty of footage shot with my GH13 with blue sky behind the subject and not once did I ever get dark spots like those in my GH2 footage... and I used my GH13 90% more than my GH2! Go figure.

I have a few spots from a dirty shoot and they were hard to notice, and they don't always show up. I find they show up when the f stop is very high like f11 or above and I'm shooting a light background, other than that they don't show up. my local camera store will clean it for $30, I'm in the middle of a move so haven't done it yet but I would suggest this route as well before sending the camera in.

I used to have a similar problem with my GH2 I bought two weeks ago. Instead of one big spot like you have, I had three fainter and smaller ones (but easy to spot
nonetheless). It was a model from Dec 2010 (WE9). I couldn't stand it so I sent it back. Bought another one, this time it's form March 2011 (WE1C) and thankfully it doesn't show any spots, well maybe just a very faint one which is hard to notice against a blues sky at f22. Overall I'm happy with this one so I'm keeping it:]
