GH2 cage recommendation request

I'm getting a GH2 whenever I'm able to ... and once a month I will be sending out in the field for non-film industry people from the office to film events. I figure the GH2 with the 14-140 lens should be fine for this, but I'd like to accessorize with a MicroLED 128 using a Panny battery, & a decent external shotgun. It seems like that rig would be very unweildy for a pro, let alone an amateur. So I'd like to get a cage to go around the GH2 which will make it easier to handle, and to support the light and mic. Looking for recommendations, thanks.

Man, Larry, that is a really nice looking cage for the GH2. I may have to snag one of those myself. Thanks for posting that.

I just got the same cage as Larry and I can definitely agree that it is extremely well made! I put a cheapo quick release on it, then proceeded to fill it up with my Rode Video mic and Lilliput 7in. monitor on an adjustable power arm. Hopefully will snap some pics of it and post it up. Very nice cage! All I'd like now is to find a set of low profile rails so that in the future I could mount a folow focus to it.

OK,

Here's a two and a half minute video review of the Cube Media Cage:

It's really a nice unit!

The ReWo cage looks nice, but the problem is that it obscures the top controls a little too much it seems. Form factor is great though, BUT it costs TWICE as much as the Cube Media Cage....

My personal options from higher to lower price are:

The top of the options for me are the Cinevate Medusa and the Zacuto Cage but they´re out of my league

The ReWo cage look cool! but as tcarretti says; the top controls look a little uncomfortable to use. (Higher price)

CPM Films Tools have two good options too, the DSLR Cubed Cage 1.0 and the DSLR Flyer Cage Kit, they are strong and light, as nice addition they give a 10% discount to the DVXUsers. (Medium price)

The Cube Media Cage really look well builded but look like a kind of unbalanced, they offer something called Original Media Cage for what i see is better suited just a little too big at sides 14", but really look like a nice alternative. (Medium price)

The other good option is the IndiSquare from IndiSystem, includes a rail system with 12" rods, tripod quick-release plate, cage with many holes, top and side a handles, strong but heavy, big 12" from side to side and from up to botton, and a great price (lower price).

Hope this help a little.
Cheers

Thanks for the replys. I'm leaning toward the Original Media Cage to start with for a nice wide and balanced, cheap solution to hold a mic and LED light, for use by amateurs. Then later I'll probably move to something like the ReWo cage w/ base & short rails, follow focus and hood, like in the review posted. Either that or something similar which is solid and expandable to support a quick change from handheld w/ or w/o shoulder support, to stix. I like modular, but I want something that meets the needs without passing into the "Honda with a Folgers can muffler" or "Escalade/Hummer with sweet 20" chrome wheels" territory.
