The mic sounds a lot like the orginal Rode Video Mic.

I meant with the GH2 specifically. Yeah lots of VMP stuff on youtube but only one GH2 audio review to my knowledge.

Heh, honestly I think the Panasonic would be very cool to have as it was made for the GH1, so aesthetically i remain jealous. What's really the problem is the AGC more than the mic choice.

I know this is an old thread but I since you mentioned AGC settings, I wanted to let you know that both AGC and metering have been improved in the patch I worked on (and that Driftwood incorporated into Sedna).

Does anyone know the deal with the [LEVEL1] to [LEVEL4] audio on the GH2?

Are they all AGC, is one level number higher just moving it up higher towards 0db?

What if you were going to record a loud, live band using just the built-in mic, what level would you use?
Would any of them clip over 0db with loud music?

Just need a 2.5mm to 3.5mm conversion cable or adapter, cheap and easy to find, i did have to trim some plastic a bit with a razor blade to make my conversion cable seat well.. other than that then you can go to the zoom or directly to your mics if they are powered.. Big general tip: get well shielded cables, especially for long runs..
