It's actaully bigger than I thot. Build quality as expected for a $630 unit but not in same class as bullectproof Canon dlsr's. Cheap as heck strap buckles, lousy looking fake leather on the grip. Kind of light . Ergomonics not wonderful, holding it upon its grip activate menus. Menus not intuitive. my 7d and 5d more intuitive. I can't Findzebras. The manual is also sucky though it is long and you get 7 volumes forr different languages. Video footage looks good so far. It hits 7D footage in the mouth. lol.

Once you get used to pannys layouts it will become intuitive...for example I find canons lacking intuitive but thats because of not using one for period of time ;-)

Well that's explains why I can't find zebras. I got wrong idea that it had some kind of way to judge exposure.

Yes, there is a way to judge exposure. Go to page 65 of the manual and it shows how to use the Histogram. (At the very back of the manual is a very good index which leads to the main functions of the camera.)

Histo very inefficient For video production. Maybe you don't know. That's why we klike zebras.

Are you saying the Canon T2i has a bulletproof body ? My Pentax K-7 body makes the T2i body look like a toy.

Not as friendly as Zebras, but pretty useful!

I find the menu very intuitive......i guess it's a matter of taste.

We have a 7d at work, and I freaking hate it!!!!!

Great! That works better than histgram. Thank! About user friendly, that's a subjective one I guess. I'll figure it out. Thank a lot!

I'm with you don't like 7D. The 7d with a zoom on the front is way heavier than my HMC150. I like my still cameras to NOT break my arm off when I'm shooting. People love the 7D and 5D for their weight and I hate them. The 5D is a beast for being such a compact looking camera....

I'm for one looking to simplify things and that will be great.. The 7D will not get used after the GH2 shows up.

I can't find the 30% off anywhere but the camera is out of stock on panny direct anyway. oh well.

No I got in panasonic direct. If you look around you can find 30% discount. Mine only $630!

I bought one on there last week at the same price.

As far as the 7D is concerned...the only difference in handling is the size. The 7D is larger and may be more comfortable for folks with large hands like myself. But I found the GH-1 to be easy to get used to....and if the GH-2 (which is on its way) is anything like that then I don't consider it "toy-like." I like its build AND the fact that it's smaller than my old 7D. You get used to it after a while.

seriously though, I've been searching for an hour and can't find mention on a single site about this 30% off stuff.
